Floral Cluster Birthday

I used the Poppy Stamps Floral Cluster die to make a birthday card...
I embossed the die onto the cardstock panel, so I would know where to place each flower and leaf.  I layered each twice and added some Tonic Jewel Drops and a Simon Says Stamp sentiment, as well as some striped paper at the bottom of the card panel.  Here's a close up...
Super fun flowers!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Sweet Succulent Thank Yous

I'm in Florida visiting my daughter, son-in-law, and baby granddaughter for a couple weeks!!  I had helped my daughter with some baby thank you cards a number of months ago, and just had to show you a few...
My daughter, Hannah, LOVES succulents!!  She wanted to make her baby thank you cards with succulents on them, so I chose the My Favorite Things Sweet Succulents...I thought the plants looked fun, yet amazing, and had a variety of pots to go with them!!  I stamped on watercolor paper, die cut, and layered the plants and pots, and added adhesive dots on the bottom of the 70+ pots.  I also stamped the wonderful sentiment stamp from Reverse Confetti, Lots to Say (LOVE this set, and perfect for these potted pretties!!) on 70+ cards.  I sent all of these plus my Peerless paints, some of the blocks from my Zig box of paints, adhesive and some brushes.  Hannah colored all the succulents and adhered them to the cards!  These cards were a joint effort:)!!  She had some that she hadn't sent yet, so I snapped some pics.  A succulent and sentiment...simple!!  Here's a close up of the first...
The second a blooming cactus...love the way she shaded the pot...
She loved the thought of being able to paint, and I LOVED the thought of her painting the plants and pots, too!  I have fun watercolor painting every once in a while, but am definitely not as adventurous as Hannah! I  think she did an AMAZING JOB coloring!!  Here's a close up...
Here's a pic of the cards she has not yet sent...
SUCH FUN!!!  How wonderful and so amazing that you can make so many cards that look so different, yet with only one stamp set, and have a long distance bonding moment with your daughter on top of all that fun..LOL!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Heart Mandalas

The new Heart Mandala die from Simon Says Stamp's newest release, Fluttering By, is one of the most beautiful dies I've ever seen!!  I have made a couple cards to show you using this striking new die...
The first one I used Distress Oxide inks on watercolor paper, and then die cut from the sponged on tri-colored paper...
I layered it once to give it a bit of depth and adhered it to cardstock that I stamped a sweet sentiment on, also from Simon, that spoke to the hearts in the die!  I also added a strip of striped paper at the bottem.  Here's a close up...
The second one, a Mother's Day card, was simply done in white on coral, with a die cut and stamped sentiments.  This one was also layered a second time...
Here's a close up...
I thought of doing an all white die cut and card for a wedding, my daughter suggested it looked like a snowflake, great for Christmas...it has SO MANY wonderful possibilities.  The die is intricate, and requires a metal adaptor plate to get a great cut(I have listed a few below for you to check out if you're interested), and the die cut requires a bit of poking out of all the tiny pieces, but the beauty of how this die looks, is well worth every minute of time it takes to punch the pieces out.  I LOVE IT!!  I hope to have more to show you:)!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Make Your Mark...You Da Best!

I used the new Simon Says Stamp Make Your Mark stamp set, coupled with a Simon die and sentiment and made a couple cards with different looks...
The first one uses my love of rainbows, and the long striped mark stamp from the set.  I used the You Da Best die from Simon along with a sentiment stamp from the new set, Messages for Everyday.  I thought of using my Tonic Drops, but I like it plain...here's a close up...
The second one, I used the set of three long differently shaped stamps, put them all on one acrylic block, and stamped them on gray cardstock with gray ink...
I used the same You Da Best sentiment die with another of the sentiment dies from the Messages from Everyday set and added a black strip at the bottom (think it looks cool, but truth be told, the 6 strips were a bit too short to fit the total width of an A2 card...:)!!_).  I used strips of red and two shades of gray, adhered to thin cardstock, and die cut the sentiment.
Ok...a really fun set to make cool cards with!!  Hope you are having a great day, wherever you are:)!!
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Little Flowers

I used the cute and sweet new Lawn Fawn Little Flowers die set and made a couple Mother's Day cards, composed of a single element, but with lots of love for moms (the second one is for my mom!)!...
I die cut and layered the flowers, leaves and pots of both cards, used a new set of pretty stamps from Simon Says Stamp for the sentiments and adhered them to cards with stitched and layered rectangles.  Here's a close up...

The second is just like the first, only daisies instead of tulips...
I know it's white on white, but I liked it...even after I thought about it...for days....just liked it.
Here's a close up...
Such fun...what a cute, fun set of dies to play with!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Twinkle Flowers

I used the new Simon Says Stamp Twinkle Flower die and the new Messages for Everyday from the new Fluttering By release, and made a couple cards...
I die cut the flowers twice, and layered one of the layers below the top panel.  I used Distress Oxide inks on some watercolor cardstock, and sponged three colors onto the paper.  I adhered it behind the layered flowers, adding a sentiment.  I also added Tonic Jewel drops in the three colors of inks.  I also gave the card panel some texture by embossing(as has become my favorite) with a piece of burlap!  Here's a close up...

The second one, I did the same as the first, but this time colored the stems of the Twinkle flowers, and adhering them to a black background and a striped strip to the bottom...
Here's a close up...
The new release from Simon is "simply" so much fun!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Birthday Wreath

I recently got the Lawn Fawn Spring Sprig die...thought it wa so cute...I played around and came up with turning the sprig into a wreath...
I used three sprigs and layered each with another layer.  I attached them and added layered flowers around on the little circles of the sprig...leaving random circles without flowers.  I added Tonic drops on the flower centers as well as on the empty green dots.  I added a sentiment from the Altenew Birthday Builder stamp set...I LOVE all the wonderful fonts and sizes of the multitude of Happy Birthday sentiments...this set will show up A LOT on MY cards...LOVE!!!   Here's a close up...
I plan on using this die again... just wish I had more hours in the day to make all the cards I have ideas for...so much fun, so little time!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Simon Says Stamp Fluttering By Blog Hop

I am so thrilled and excited to be a part of Simon Says Stamp's Blog Hop today, celebrating it's newest release, Fluttering By!!
You should have arrived here from Heather Ruwe's blog!
This release, as with it's very name, has some beautiful butterflies in it!  Fluttering By celebrates Mother's Day with some wonderful stamps/dies that express love to all moms, as well as there being a number of stamps, dies and stencils that celebrate everyday life!!  I have chosen one of the sets of butterfly dies, and made three cards, using one of the two butterfly dies of this set in 3 different ways...
All three of my cards use the new Stitching Butterflies dies...these butterflies are SOOOOOO pretty!! I die cut the butterfly pieces for both butterflies from watercolor paper, and used my watercolor paint to give them color.  I layered them, then adhered them to a card panel with a die cut background using the new Pebbles die (also layered from underneath), and sentiment from the new sentiment set, Messages for Everyday.  Here's a close up...

The second one, I used the same butterfly, this time with patterned paper and another die from the new release, with a line of butterflies,  Flickering Butterflies.  I layered the butterflies a second time from underneath, then put the black cardstock under the layered die cuts.  I added another of the sentiments from the Messages for Everyday stamp set...
Here's a close up...

The third one, I used plain, colored cardstock for the butterfly, in two shades of pink.   I used the Pebbles die for a background, as well as some leaves from the older  Simon Forget Me Not die set...
I die cut and layered the butterfly and adhered it onto the card with the leaves, after embossing the pebbles (did I tell you I LOVE this Pebble die??!!) and stamping the sentiment (yet another from the Messages for Everyday!!).  I dotted some Jewel Tonic drops for some bling:)!!  Here's a close up...
Ok...I had so much fun, but now, some fun for you!!

You "Rock" Happy Birthday!

The new release over at Simon Says Stamp, Fluttering By, is filled with so much fun stuff!!!  I made a card with one of the new dies and a sentiment stamp set...

Ok...fun, right??!!  I LOVE this new Pebbles die!!!  I have used it on a number of cards simply as a background, but this card, the rocks are center stage!!  I simply embossed the die onto some white cardstock, got out a BUNCH of my prismacolor markers and went to coloring!!  Here's what it looked like(I am NOT the best colorer!!)...
I placed my colored rocks underneath one layer of a die cut then the top panel with the sentiments stamped from one of the new sentiment stamp sets, which I also LOVE, Messages for Everyday!!  Here's a close up...
There's a blog hop over at the Simon Blog today, and I'll be joining a bunch of amazing artists tomorrow for a second hop...hope you'll join me and others...should be LOTS of fun, with LOTS of inspiration!!
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Fluttering By for Mother's Day!

There is a brand new release over at Simon Says Stamp, Fluttering By...and it is AMAZING!!  I have made three cards with one of the stamp sets to show you today...
All three cards use the new Love You Mama stamp/die set!  The first one, I used one of the mom stamps along with the daisies from the set, stamping, die cutting, coloring, layering, then adhering to a stamped polka dotted background.  Here's a close up...
The second one was totally inspired by Jennifer McGuire.  Those of you who know me, know that I don't get out in blog land much, but I love Jennifer McGuire's work and was especially fascinated and in love with a set of cards she recently made for a blog hop...you can see the cards and video HERE!!  I am a die cutter, I work with dies and paper, but sometimes we all have to step out of what's comfortable and our strong suits and try new things...especially when we LOVE what we see out there!!   This was my attempt at Distress Oxide Water Painting...and let me tell you...SO...MUCH...FUN!!!!!  And unlike her cards, that required a lot of stamping, this card is one beautiful new Simon stamp....LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this stamp!!!  It's possibilities are huge!!...
I stamped, embossed in gold, die cut and layered the sentiment, added another sentiment from this sweet stamp set, and some Tonic drops.  Here's a close up...

The first was coloring, the second painting...the third one is paper piecing!! ...

I stamped the mom and flower/leaves on patterned paper, then cut with scissors.  I then adhered the pieces onto layered die cuts of those stamped images.  I adhered onto a card with a backround of the stamp used above, with the middle reinserted!!   Added another of the stamp's sentiments, and some purple Tonic drops...
OMG...what super super fun!!  This release has got so many cool stamps, dies, stencils....hope you will check it out over at SIMON!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
