CAS(E) this Sketch #97...a Little Late

It has been a CRAZY week at my house...getting ready to take a trip with my daughter Emma and Noah...our first trip since his injury 7+ years ago, and haven't had a lot of time to create...and we'll be gone to visit our hometown, Buffalo and family, until Nov 7th...so you won't see much of me for the next week, too:)!  I made this card for CAS(E) this Sketch #97...never got it up in time for the challenge, but here it is, with the sketch...
Had a really hard time deciding WHAT to use for those two 1/2 images!!    I chose somethng super simple...1/2 die cut daisies and a layered die cut thanks that was glossy accented.  Popped up the polka dotted panel on the card and added embossed 1/2 centers
I will have a couple more cards to share with you while I'm gone, but will be back from my trip to get Thanksgiving and Christmas going:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

I Love You Rain or Shine

I know this is a season for leaves and snowflakes...but love is every season, right?  Two of my entries for the Splitcoaststampers Dirty Dozen month of April, which was April Showers for the month's theme, are rain/shower related, but overall love...
I used the same Papertrey Ink sentiment for both cards...cut and lengthened it for the second card.  The first one used a Simon, Lawn Fawn AND Lil' Inker dies!!  I used paint chips for the cloud, sun and hearts.
The second one, I used a Memory box die for the umbrellas and a Simon die that I embossed for the background.  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

The Cutting Edge Challenge # 13...Thank You Snow Much!

It's time to share the next Cutting Edge Challenge!  We have another beautiful inspiration project, this one done by Kay Miller...
Let yourself be inspired by Kay's card, and create a card that includes die cutting (all forms accepted).  I was first drawn to the colors in Kay's lovely card, but I was also inspired by the stitched leaves...hmmm....stitched...stitched....
I chose some stitched snowflakes, like Kay's stitched leaves,  and like Kay, I chose some untraditional (but becoming one of my favorite Christmas combos) colors to cut them with.
We’d love to have you play along with us! If you click on through to The Cutting Edge Challenge Blog, you’ll find lots of information, including:

  • The Winner of the last challenge, as well as the Top 3, are being announced;
  • The Cutting Edge Design Team is sharing their samples for the challenge, and they are pretty fabulous;
  • The InLinkz link-up tool for you to link up YOUR project!

The challenge closes on Thursday, November 6th at 9:00 AM EDT, so hope you will join us?!  You can find everything you need to play along HERE.  We can’t wait to see what you create!!

I Love You Snow Much!

When I was looking at a cute new set of stamps and matching dies from Simon Says Stamp, Bundle Up, I saw a card made with the mitten dies, by Lucy Abrams, shown below the item at the online store(great place for inspiration!!...links below).  The thing I thought was especially cute about her sweet card was the way she used the strings from the mittens and formed a heart...LOVED IT!!  I used that idea to make some mittens out of a linen piece of paper I got at Michaels...
I die cut the mittens, and die cut a small heart from the center of each mitten.  I die cut 2 red felt hearts and adhered to mittens, added twine and twisted into shape of heart.  The sentiment is from an older set from Darcies, I thought with mittens and the hearts, went perfectly (I would have LOVED "You Warm my Heart!)...
As always...FUN!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Christmas AND Birthday Gifts!

I used the new Simon Brilliant Gifts die for a couple "brilliant silver lined" cards!!  The die is designed with two more gift boxes, one on either side, but I opted to cut them off, to make the die a little shorter in length...I LOVE how the package bows hang off of either side of the boxes and I just think it fits a standard card a bit better:)!...
I used shiny silver paper, layered with white underneath, and patterned and metallic paper to fill the packages.  I added a Christmas sentiment from last year's Simon collection...
THEN...I thought...HEY, this die could fit more than just Christmas...what about a BIRTHDAY??...
For this card, I layered with shiny silver like the first, but used RAINBOW colored paint chips for the centers of the presents.  I also used a Simon sentiment...
Oh, my, these pretty gifts make me happy!!  What FUN!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Hey, Lady!

The challenge this week at Less is More is to make a card with "Little Creatures" on it:)!!  I have had this stamp by Rubber Soul for a while and thought it perfect to pull out of my stamp drawer for this week's challenge...
Only thing is...I didn't have "THE" sentiment I wanted to use with my lady bug...LOL... so I used my computer and printed "THE" sentiment (Papyrus font) on a piece of white cardstock and then stamped my bug on THAT:)!
I have computer printed the sentiments for my cards a few times...a MUST when you can't find the precise word or words in your stamps to say what you want your card to say!!!   I stamped the image a second time on a separate piece of paper and cut and colored two of the pieces of grass and the ladybug.  I also glossy accented the ladybug after adhering to the card (thought it made her look more ladybuggish)...
Thanks so much, Chrissie and ladies, for showcasing my Autumn leaf...I am honored and so appreciate your acknowledgement and sweet words...you made my week:)!!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

SSS...SSS!

Ya know...after hundreds of post titles, it gets hard to come up with something original...today was a fun thought:)!  SSS...SSS!  Simon Says Stamp...Simply Stamped Snowflakes!...
At Christmas, aren't we all looking for simple ways to make pretty Christmas cards?  I used the new Simon Says Stamp snowflake stamp set with one of the new Simon colors, another Simon color, and a couple new set of sentiments (one on the front, one inside)...a card filled with Simon Goodness!! (I've linked them all at the bottom of the post:)!)   I stamped the sentiment FIRST, clear embossed, and stamped the snowflakes around it.  Added twine on the side and stamped a sentiment on the inside with the same font as the "Merry"...
I'm entering this into the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge this week (my THIRD entry...TOO MUCH FUN:)!!)...kind of flipped the sketch and put my sentiment in a different position...
Hee hee...flipped the sketch....oh, too much coffee this morning:)!!  Having FUN!!  Thanks for spending time at my blog!! Hugs!! Lisa

Four Birds on a Sled

I used a sweet new stamp/die set from the Simon STAMPtember® release...I couldn't resist putting these cute birds on the wonderful die cut sled...
I stamped the birds then clear embossed and colored with markers.  I used the coordinating bird dies and cut all the birds out, along with a bunch of others to layer them with.  I die cut the sled with wood veneer paper (then layered with chipboard) and swiped it with distress ink to make it a darker looking wood to go with the dark "christmas" sentiment...
The two sentiments are from 2 different new Simon sets, also from the STAMPtember® release.
I will be linking this card to the Festive Friday Challenge #42.   It's a new-to-me challenge (thanks, Ardyth!)!!   Here's the inspiration...

OK...lots of fun!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
