Hello

With company here, I cannot access my stamp room too easily, but can still play with my paper.  I was inspired by a gift bag at Target that had such pretty yellow, pink and orange chevrons,  and had to play last night!!  I had my Big shot and paper cutter, so I decided to "make" some chevrons.  Had made a card last year, with chevrons using Jennifer McGuire's excellent video, HERE.  Combined with a Papertrey die cut sentiment...there you have it...no stamping, but great fun!! Am entering this into the final day of the Moxie Fab World Chevron Challenge~

Had a long line of chevrons, so my card is 4 x 6.  Here's a close up...

Happy Easter to You and Happy Blogaversary to Me!

Happy Easter everyone...hope your day is wonderfilled!!   As special a day as this is, it just happens that the anniversary of the beginning of my blog happens to fall on the same day this year, too!!
It has been 2 years, today, that I began my blog!  I am SO VERY THANKFUL for ALL the love and support that I receive from you, the followers and readers of my blog... you have blessed me and encouraged me through simply being a follower,  by your comments and though emails to me...more than you will ever know!!!  It has been an incredible year for me...a year of firsts...my first design team, first blog hop, first publication...a year of stepping out and stepping in...WOW!!   I stand amazed and so honored to not only have your incredible support, but to have had such incredible recognition...BLOWN AWAY!!
I am wanting to celebrate with you all!  Rather than offer a stamp set or two, I thought I would offer a $30 gift certificate to my favorite place to shop, Simon Says Stamp, and you could get a couple stamps sets YOU might want...they carry almost everyone's products!!

Happy Birthday

It has been almost a week since my last post... a weedy yard, 24 bags of mulch(have to get more), and a house to clean for Easter company, the week just disappeared from me.  I had made this card last weekend, after cleaning the room for our company, and finding another of my rainbow inked panels.  I told how I did them HERE .  The only thing about THIS panel, is that it was one of my first tries and part of the green didn't stamp right, so I didn't use it.  BUT...I also didn't get rid of it, thinking I might someday use it for something.  Well...even though it's similar to the other, thought it cool to see another way to use this panel.  I die cut the Papertrey Ink BIRTHDAY sentiment and dotted it with glossy accents....LOVE black on rainbow!! It pretty much covered the goof in my stamping(underneath the "b" and "i") Added some tiny black, glossy accented stars, too!

Groovy and Special

A set by Verve, Surely Goodness... can be Groovy AND Special...

Used some bold colors and randomly stamped the flowers, cut into a panel, layered on chipboard and added to card with sentiment(which, some of you may recall, is part of the chorus of "Wild Thing"...my girlfriends and I used to sing that song ALL THE TIME...many years ago)!

I made the lower card for a blessing ceremony of a friend's daughter...welcoming her into adulthood...

I used three flowers...it may "look" like more layers, but only 3 flowers , stamped in versamark on glossy paper and clear embossed. I cut out then sponged with Hero Arts Soft Blossom.  I DID cut the bottom flower's alternating layers to "pop" out...here is a picture of how I cut the big one as well as the other two flowers...this was my first experiment ...I used orange on black, and in the bottom left corner, I've shown you the top layer flower, what I STARTED with and what I cut it down to...

So the largest flower was cut, the middle one left plain and the top one cut out and rolled a bit like the bottom....hope this all makes sense.  There is a  large flower  with leaves stamp in the set that I stamped the same way, cut out,  and sponged with lucky limeade and then old olive...just didn't look dark enough.  I cut most of THAT flower off, and put the leaves behind the pink flower.  Used Crumb cake paper and the grosgrain ribbon impression from My Favorite Things to give the strip a ribbon look.  The sentiment is from a set I just purchased (for some of it's other sentiments) called Like Your Style, but had a PERFECT one for my card, too:)!!  It may "sound" complicated, yes, lots of fussy cutting, but super simple.   Thanks for visiting me today!! Sunshine

Yes, I've been having fun....a third post for today!  I made a card using the new Papertrey Ink Sunrise Impression Plate 1 and a stand-alone sentiment from Verve.  I purchased them without knowledge or thought of the other, but thought they fit perfectly together...

Made the impression with the sun first, then cut the circle out of the panel.  I stamped the sentiment through the hole(if you do it this way, make certain your acrylic block is really clean so it doesn't get the sun panel all inky), embossed and popped up the sun over the card.  Thanks for visiting me today!! Sending Love

A second post today with another card made using the same Simon Says Stamp Tri Square die as my earlier post and the coordinating stamps Square Sayings, the sentiment is also Simon Say Stamp, Handwritten Sentiments...

I die cut the squares then stamped the hearts and masked. My masks weren't perfect, but loved the touches of white that peek through...adds a bit of whimsy, I think.   I then stamped over the mask with the the square stamp.  Layered each square and added sentiment.  I had purchased a bunch of these Hero Arts inks...love the colors and how they stamp!!   Thanks for visiting me today!! My Favorite

I have just discovered the challenges at Moxie Fab World...wow...talk about a whole bunch of challenges!!!  Fun!!  Decided to make a card for the Chevron Challenge with some new sets from Simon Says Stamp...

I used Simon Says Stamp Circle Friends for the bears, Holiday Shapes for the heart, Furry Cat and Box for the sentiment and Tri Square die for the cut out squares.  I stamped the bears in soft suede and sand and cut out the  body and pieces and adhered the pieces together.  Die cut a little red heart.  Used Stamping Up patterned paper behind the bears and My Favorite Things Chevron Stripes and debossed on the front panel.

CAS(E) this Sketch #20

Oh my goodness...I saw the sketch for CAS(E) this Sketch, and I ran to get the gift card I had gotten for my daughter to see...if...just maybe...was it right for the sketch...I think so:)  And too funny...I had not made one Easter card yet and wanted to make one today...so this will count...here's the sketch and my card...

 I thought this sketch PERFECT for this gift card!   Made a basket out of brown paper, cut some grass with My Favorite Things Fresh Cut Grass, a Papertrey impression plate (Aida), a ribbon and a computer generated sentiment...

 No stamping on this card:(...just didn't have the PERFECT sentiment on hand.  Here is what the gift card looks like outside the basket.

Two Grid Border Cards

A couple cards to share made with the new Simon Says Stamp Grid Border Die...

I found a game app called Stone Flood...so much fun for me...and so makes me think of this die!!  The first one I die cut with increased space and color, using four different colored 1' strips behind the grids.  Added a Simon Says Stamp sentiment from Handwritten Sentiments.  Thanks, Jen...will enter this card into the Moxie Fab Ombre challenge:)!!

The second one...HAD to go with my rainbow, the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Square Sayings, but wanted an extra row of color.  Decided to add a fifth row to the die and this is how... 

I first die cut...using my ruler to make sure the die was straight and Eclipse tape to hold it in place.

 Then after die cutting once, placed the die OVER 3 of the 4 rows, EXACTLY(really important), cutting over the 3 already cut rows, and cutting only one new row.

 It looks like the above pic.

 Then I placed 1/4" Scor-tape over the holes...back...

 and front.  Then die cut the various colors and with tweezers...

placed all the colored squares in the holes...took about 10 minutes...super fun for me...like making a puzzle:):)!!  Here's a close up of the squares...
